My "Alter Ego" photo assignment

For my digital photo class, I had to photograph my alter ego...the only thing I could think of for this was my exact opposite. Now, I don't want people getting offended by this, because I'm in no way putting down people's personal style choices...but I chose a gothic person as my opposite, or Alter Ego, to photograph. My roommates volunteered to be my models, they were actually pretty pysched to do it...but anyhoo, considering I had a makeshift "studio" (aka, my room with a blanket up as a backdrop, and in my living room in front of curtains) I think they turned out pretty cool!! Let me know any favorites, comments, etc.

  2. The fifth photo from the bottom is my favorite - windswept hair - I love it. I pick that for your perfect alter ego.

    Wonderful work and great lighting.

  4. I like the fifth one, too ... but it doesn't necessarily read as "goth" as the second one. I would go with the second one. You get a bit more of the black shirt, black necklace, and black eyeliner. Plus there is a great facial expression, great motion, and great lighting, too. It's almost as if she is hiding behind her hair. That's the one I'd use!

  6. The girl in the photo second photo from the bottom is absolutely stunning. I really like that photo, or of her with the woven hat thing by her face, that one is great too.

The other girl is also very pretty, but her photos don't have the same attitude - except for the shot of her eyes...still...I think she would really shine in an outdoor scene, with bright light showing off her beautiful hair. That's it - her hair is lighter, that is what makes it different.

You are so lucky to have two beautiful models to help you! :) And each with unique looks...each absolutely gorgeous in their own right.

  7. wow..very interesting and a great idea to shoot the opposite of what we see ourselves as. I may have to borrow that assignment for my photo group. All these images are creative and well shot. I thought, as I viewed each one, that I had found a new favorite but I don't have one in the end. Great series!
