Third Eye Blind Concert

Over a month ago I photographed this concert where Blue Sky Reality opened for Third Eye Blind at my school. It was an interesting experience...they would only let me photograph throughout the first 4 songs, which JUST so conveniently was almost pitch black and had hardly any light on the band's face until literally the 4th song. So I was scrambling to get some decent shots during the last (4th) song, where I actually had light, and here's what I came up with in total. They turned out pretty good! (All of them are of Third Eye Blind).

  1. great captured, jess. i hear what you're saying about the lighting on the players. but these silhouettes give you another depth to it. from artistic point of view, i prefer them. since i don't know the band, aesthetically, i love them.
here's my favourites 1, 5, 7, 9 & 10. oh & the very last one. how did you manage to take you camera in? over here they wouldn't let us in with an srl camera. though, i always pushed my luck. great work!

  2. Thank you so much!! I was photographing the concert for my job at University Unions, so the media had restricted access, which was frustrating since everyone down in the pit had flash cameras and were taking pictures the whole time. It killed me not to!

Thanks again for the kind words!

Just read the comment you left on The Pittsburgh Coffee Pot blog. Thanks for visiting again. And yeah I agree...those mochas are pretty good. ;)

Stop by the blog some time soon.
